Qantas making further improvements in Perth
Qantas has today (December 10th) introduced a new security screening facility at its domestic terminal at Perth Airport.
The new provision will reduce congestion, cut waiting times and make the airport experience quicker and easier for passengers, said Ian Gay, the airline's regional manager for Western Australia.
Qantas is investing $75 million (£42.2 million) in the development of Perth Airport and has already installed new facilities including three extra baggage carousels, six new check-in counters and a larger aerobridge that can accommodate wide-body aircraft.
Mr Gay said: "Qantas has significantly expanded services in Western Australia over the last 12 months, largely to meet demand for additional capacity from the mining and energy sectors.
"This rapid growth has prompted a significant investment in the Perth terminal in order to deliver a faster, smoother and more seamless airport experience for our customers."
He went on to say that Perth will be the first airport to trial Qantas' next-generation check-in next year.
