Alitalia 'ready to move forward in 2010'
Alitalia has announced that it is "ready to move forward in 2010" after undergoing a number of changes this year.
The airline was fully privatised in January, meaning it is now 100 per cent owned by an Italian consortium of investors.
A new carrier was created by the integration of the 'old' Alitalia and Air One, offering more than 2,500 weekly flights to 49 international destinations and 24 points in Italy.
The airline's international services include flights to Rome and Milan from Heathrow Airport and a link to Milan Linate from London City Airport.
People travelling with Alitalia from London Heathrow can make use of a number of new facilities following the airline's move to Terminal 4 from Terminal 2, which is now closed for redevelopment.
New amenities include an improved check-in area with dedicated desks for business class passengers and a lounge for Club Ulisse and SkyTeam Elite Plus members.
Alitalia has also opened new lounges at Rome Fiumicino Airport, offering showers, a self-service dining area, computer workstations and other facilities.
