The CityCenter complex in
Las Vegas is now fully operational following the grand opening of the Aria Resort and Spa.
Covering an area of 67 acres and coming at a cost of around $8 billion (£5 billion), CityCenter is the largest privately funded development in
US history.
Aria, which is described by the
Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority as "the jewel in the crown of CityCenter", was officially opened at a special event last week.
The resort consists of 4,000 guest rooms, three pools and several restaurants and bars.
Entertainment options include Viva Elvis, a new Cirque du Soleil production housed in a specially designed theatre at Aria.
Among the other features of CityCenter are the Vdara Hotel and Spa, which was opened with an exclusive party at the beginning of the month, and the Mandarin Oriental.
At the Crystals Retail and Entertainment District, visitors can buy products from a host of designer brands including Louis Vuitton, Tiffany, Prada and Gucci.
