Britons are set to return to France and Spain for holidays in 2010, a new study has suggested.
According to research by simonseeks.com, trips abroad will take over from staycations next year.
A study of 3,000 people found that 56 per cent said they were keen to travel overseas in 2010, with many noting Spain and Franceas among the destinations they would like to visit.
Simon Nixon, founder of simonseeks.com, said that people are determined to enjoy a foreign getaway next year.
He commented: "Staycation was the buzz word of 2009 but it seems that 2010 is will be more about a compromise culture, with people giving up short terms benefits to ensure they can afford that holiday abroad."
The research also found that cost is the biggest concern for 81 per cent of travellers in 2010, with 39 per cent saying they would cut down on activities while on holiday to reduce their outlay.
