Brits 'to benefit from bargains this year'
While the pound is still in a weak position against the euro, its strength against other currencies means that Brits will be able to pick up some bargains early this year, according to Travelex.
The foreign exchange company released a report suggesting that Dubai, New York and Jamaica will offer the best value for people planning to get 2010 underway with a holiday.
Dubai is being billed as this year's 'bargain hotspot' following its recent economic problems, according to Travelex.
The firm also revealed that, while the US dollar has regained some of its value against the pound recently, British travellers still got almost six per cent more value for their money in December 2009 than the previous year.
Jamaica was the 'top tip' from Travelex for people planning to visit the Caribbean early this year, with the local currency offering 24 per cent more value for UK visitors than at the same time in 2009.
Travelex director Julian Neal said: "The value of the pound against the dirham and both the US and Jamaican dollars means travellers will be much better off compared to this time last year."
