Travelling the world 'top ambition for Brits'
Seeing the world is the number one ambition for the majority of British people, according to research.
Experience website Intotheblue.co.uk carried out a survey of 1,682 Britons, asking them what they would like to achieve over the next decade.
Nearly two-thirds (61 per cent) of people asked said they are hoping to travel the world, with Australia, Europe and South America emerging as the most popular areas for exploration.
Swimming with dolphins was second in the list, while skydiving, emigrating and climbing a mountain completed the run-down of Britons' top five ambitions.
Some of the more unusual goals that people hope to achieve before 2020 include taking a trip into space and volunteering for a charity.
Rob Holmes, e-commerce and marketing manager at Intotheblue.co.uk, said: "In honesty, I think there's a higher chance that 17 per cent of the population will be moonwalking courtesy of Richard Branson than a third of the population will emigrate come 2020.
"However, this is interesting because it shows that the public are fed up and want to experience something different. There are the usual suspects in the top ten, such as skydiving and swimming with dolphins, but it was a nice surprise to see actions on the wish-list such as volunteering for charity."
