Holiday in France 'can be cheaper than UK'
Holidaymakers weighing up the options of heading abroad this year or staying in the UK have been informed that they could actually spend less if they decide to visit a foreign country such as France.
Carolyn Boyd, editor of FRANCE Magazine, said that the traditional family holiday in the European country has had something of a resurgence of late.
She claimed that many Britons are reluctant to run the risk of visiting a destination in the UK this year following last summer's disappointing weather.
Ms Boyd acknowledged the importance of the exchange rate, saying that demand is likely to remain consistent if the currency situation stays the same.
"However, even with the exchange rate as it is, we are making sure we get the message across that a French holiday can be the same price, if not cheaper, than a British holiday," she added.
"You will eat better for the same price and, unlike in Britain, with the likelihood of bad weather, you can spend your days doing free activities on the beach, walking, rather than paying to go into indoor attractions to keep out of the rain."
People interested in visiting France can choose from flights to Rennes, Marseille, Bordeaux, Paris and several other destinations.
