Flybe has reported that its passengers are benefiting from a check-in service partnership with
Virgin Atlantic.
Finalised late last year, the tie-up means that people travelling on a through ticket on Flybe and Virgin Atlantic flights can have boarding cards issued for both sectors at the beginning of their journey.
People travelling from regional airports will see their transfer times reduced at connecting hubs if they receive their boarding passes and have their luggage through-tagged straight away, according to Flybe.
Passengers can remain airside throughout their journey and do not have to worry about checking in a second time at transfer hubs such as
Gatwick Airport and
Manchester Airport.
Flybe's chief commercial officer, Mike Rutter, said: "Flybe is continually striving to improve our customer experience for the added convenience of our passengers. The introduction of this new service for connecting Virgin Atlantic passengers is yet another example of Flybe's ongoing commitment to our customers and partners."
Edmond Rose, commercial director at Virgin Atlantic, said the airline was "delighted" to be able to offer smoother connections to destinations such as
Orlando and
Las Vegas.
Flybe has similar arrangements in place with
British Airways,
Brussels Airlines and
Etihad.
