People who are interested in learning more about the history and culture of
Vienna can arrange
city breaks this year to visit a number of new exhibitions.
The Kunsthistorisches Museum is presenting a display that showcases work by the 17th century Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer.
Travellers can visit the exhibition before April 25th to see several of Vermeer's works and learn about how they were received and used as inspiration for later artists.
Still life painting is the subject of a new show set to open at the Bank
Austria Kunstforum, which will run from February 10th to May 30th.
The display will feature about 100 works that provide a representation of the way food and drink has been portrayed through the art form.
Another new show will open on February 11th at the Belvedere, a palace that was built as a summer residence for Prince Eugene of Savoy in the early 18th century.
Travellers visiting
Vienna will be able to learn more about Prince Eugene at the exhibition, particularly his roles as statesman and patron of science and the arts.
