Lonely Planet offering free Vancouver guide for iPhones
Lonely Planet has launched a free iPhone guide to the city of Vancouver, Canada.
The application has been made available to celebrate the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, which will take place in Vancouver between February 12th and 28th.
Users can learn more about some of the city's top sights and attractions, such as the UBC Thunderbird Arena, Vancouver Art Gallery and the Capilano Salmon Hatchery.
The tool will also offer a number of fun facts about the city, a location-based navigation facility and maps provided by Google.
Travellers can download the guide for free from the iPhone apps store or through iTunes.
It will be available until March 1st this year.
People planning winter sports holidays this year can make use of a free iPhone app that was recently released by the Ski Club of Great Britain.
The application provides useful information and advice on snow depths, weather forecasts and other issues relating to hundreds of skiing and snowboarding resorts around the world.
