Qantas wine cellar scoops award
An industry publication has awarded Qantas with the title of Best First Class Cellar for 2009.
Business Traveller recognised the Australian carrier in three other categories in its annual Cellars in the Sky Awards, which is run in partnership with Wine International magazine.
The three prizes were given to Qantas for Best First Class Red, Best First Class Fortified and Sweet and Best Presented Wine List.
In addition, the airline scooped the runner-up prizes in the Best Business Class Sparkling and Best First Class Sparkling.
Lesley Grant of Qantas Group's executive customer and marketing division said in a statement: "These awards support the strong customer feedback on the premium wines we select for Qantas flights."
She added: "Over the years, Qantas has built up one of Australia's most enviable cellars, enabling it to choose from a range of premium wines to match Neil Perry's menus on both domestic and international flights."
