Australia's Northern Territory launches free iPhone app
Travellers planning a trip to Australia's Northern Territory (NT) can make use of a new application that has been made available for the iPhone and iTouch.
The OutbackNT tool is available for free download from iTunes.
It is designed to help visitors plan their trip to the Northern Territory and includes interactive maps, an itinerary planner, local food guides, events listings and other useful features.
The app will be functional even when there is no web connection available, meaning travellers will still be able to use it in remote areas.
George Christakis, Tourism NT's sales and marketing manager in the UK and Ireland, said: "This innovative new app allows visitors to get the very best from their trip to the Northern Territory.
"Using one comprehensive source at your convenience on your mobile, explore the vibrant tropical city of Darwin, World Heritage-listed national parks like Kakadu and famous outback towns like Alice Springs and plan itineraries on the hop."
Flights to Darwin, the Northern Territory's state capital, are available with Qantas, British Airways, Emirates and other carriers.
