Qatar Airways to offer Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires flights
Qatar Airways has announced that it will expand its network into South America this year with the launch of flights to Sao Paulo, Brazil and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The carrier said that the destinations will be added to the range of routes it offers from Doha over the next few months.
Qatar Airways' expansion plans for 2010 saw the airline launch flights to Bangalore in February, with further new services to Copenhagen, Ankara, Tokyo and Barcelona set to be introduced over the coming months.
Travellers will also benefit from capacity increases to destinations including Colombo, Shanghai and the Maldives this year.
Akbar Al Baker, the airline's chief executive officer, said: "These are exciting times for Qatar Airways, looking forward to further expansion in line with our committed strategy to develop our global operations to all corners of the world."
He continued: "By adding Brazil and Argentina, we can finally say Qatar Airways has become a truly global airline touching all parts of the world."
The company recently announced that its fleet has doubled over the past five years and now includes 80 aircraft.
