Flybe to boost capacity during British Airways strike
Flybe has announced that it will increase capacity on some of its flights this month to help passengers affected by the planned strike at British Airways.
The regional airline will offer more seats on several of its routes in the UK and Europe, including flights to Aberdeen, Jersey and Dusseldorf from Gatwick Airport.
Travellers are also set to benefit from increased capacity on Flybe's services from Southampton Airport, which the carrier said will assist people who had planned to fly from Gatwick or Heathrow Airport with British Airways.
Flybe said that it "regularly reviews" travel disruption caused by industrial action and will be able to offer a "reliable and great value" alternative to passengers this month.
British Airways' cabin crew staff are set to strike for three days from March 20th and for a further four days from March 27th.
The airline said it was "extremely disappointed" that Unite - the trade union representing the workers - had announced plans for industrial action, which it said will cause "massive disruption for hundreds of thousands of our customers in the run-up to the Easter holidays".
