Dubai tourist board promotes annual events
The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) in Dubai has promoted some of the major events that will be taking place in the destination over the coming year.
One of the highlights for foreign visitors will be Summer Surprises, which is set to get underway on June 17th and will run until August 7th.
Travellers will be able to take advantage of discounts on fashion, jewellery, electrical products and other items at some of Dubai's famous malls and retail outlets.
There will also be nightly fireworks displays, international theatre productions, street performances, fashion shows and various other events organised during Summer Surprises.
Movie fans will be visiting the emirate between December 12th and 19th for the International Film Festival, which will have a theme of 'bridging cultures, meeting minds'.
Ian Scott, UK and Ireland director of the DTCM, said: "Dubai offers a well-rounded holiday experience to visitors.
"Not only does it boast year-round sunshine and unrivalled facilities in its hotels, restaurants and bars, but the emirate has also developed an extensive annual calendar of entertainment and activities that reflect its cosmopolitan approach."
Emirates announced last week that it would bring a second Airbus A380 to Heathrow Airport this summer to operate daily flights to Dubai.
