Bmi to add 4,500 seats from Heathrow this weekend
Bmi has announced that it will offer help to passengers affected by the planned strike at British Airways this weekend by adding 4,500 seats to its normal flight schedule from Heathrow Airport.
The carrier confirmed that it will add flights and upgrade aircraft to mitigate the effect of the four-day walkout, which is set to begin at midnight on Friday March 26th.
Travellers will be offered extra capacity on bmi's flights to Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Jeddah, Moscow and other destinations from London Heathrow.
New services to Berlin and Vienna, set to begin on March 28th, will also provide additional seating.
British Airways Silver and Gold Executive cardholders will be offered access to bmi's airport lounges, including its flagship international facility at Heathrow Airport.
It was announced earlier this week that the number of cabin crew staff coming forward to work will allow British Airways to offer full schedules from Gatwick Airport and London City Airport over the weekend.
