AITO: Spain will be top holiday spot
Holidays to Spain will be the top choice in 2010 by British tourists, according to the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO).
Ian Bradley, spokesperson for the group, said that while destinations such as Egypt and Turkey are currently showing signs of growth in the travel market, Spain will be sure to come out on top by the end of the year.
"If customers are looking for good value in spite of the ongoing strength of the euro, they need to bear in mind that many hotels throughout the eurozone, particularly in Spain, have slashed their prices," he added.
These comments come in support of figures released by the International Air Transport Association this week, which signalled a return to growth in people taking holidays abroad to sunny destinations such as Malaga.
Figures showed there was a 9.5 per cent increase in passenger traffic last February on the year before.
