Continental Airlines offer healthy food choice
Continental Airlines will offer passengers high quality, healthy food for many of its US and Canada routes and some Latin American routes.
Passengers taking a flight from Manchester to Orlando, Florida for a holiday trip to Disney World, for example, would be able to buy items from the new menu in economy class as well as take advantage of the airline's complimentary menu.
People taking business class flights using the airline will also be able to taste the new menu, which includes a chicken parmesan Tuscan sandwich.
Jim Compton, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of the carrier, said: "We are improving our economy meal service with a high-quality, industry-leading food-for-purchase program."
"Our traditional free-food model has served us well for many years, but we need to change to reflect today's market and customer preferences," he added.
Other future investments by Continental Airlines include an in-flight internet service, a live television service and new flat-bed BusinessFirst seats for business travellers.
