Emirates resort receives luxury travel award
Emirates has announced that its Wolgan Valley Resort and Spa in Australia was among the winners at the recent Luxury Travel Gold List Awards.
The complex was voted the world's most desired newly opened hotel or resort of 2010.
Located west of Sydney in the state of New South Wales, Wolgan Valley began welcoming guests in October 2009.
It is the only resort in recent history to have received permission to be built near a World Heritage area - Australia's Blue Mountains.
According to Emirates, Wolgan Valley is "redefining what traditional luxury means to travellers" by combining modern amenities with "a commitment to broader social, ecological and environmental sustainability".
Joost Heymeijer, general manager of the resort, said: "Wolgan Valley has become an aspirational destination that is driven by an extraordinary location, new luxury and outstanding conservation values. It is simply a unique and unparalleled Australian experience."
People planning to visit Australia can catch flights to Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and other destinations with Emirates.
