Copenhagen recommended for city breaks
Copenhagen offers everything that travellers are likely to be looking for during a city break, according to a recent article published in the Daily Telegraph.
Writer Nick Trend claimed that Denmark's capital represents the "perfect break", with a range of experiences and activities on offer to suit all tastes.
People who have developed an interest in Danish art after seeing the Christen Kobke exhibition at London's National Gallery were urged to visit the Hirschsprungske Collection, which offers an insight into the country's Golden Age of painting in the 19th century.
Mr Trend also recommended the National Gallery of Denmark, which is home to major works by the likes of Titian, Rubens and Matisse.
Copenhagen's culinary scene received a welcome boost this year when Noma took first place in the San Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants list, knocking the famous El Bulli establishment in Spain off the top spot.
The Telegraph writer revealed that there are many other "high-class" places to eat in the city, such as The Paul at Tivoli Gardens.
Flights to Copenhagen are available with British Airways, SAS, easyJet and other carriers.
