Virgin Atlantic launches app to fight jet lag
Virgin Atlantic has announced the launch of a mobile application designed to combat the effects of jet lag.
The airline teamed up with Mental Workout, a leading developer of mobile and web apps that help improve people's lives, to create Jet Lag Fighter.
Available for the iPhone and iPod touch, the tool has a number of features that could help people avoid the feeling of fatigue and disorientation that often results from travelling across different time zones.
Users will be offered in-flight tips based on the length of their journey, an alertness meter showing the body's levels of performance and a multimedia guide to jet lag.
Sir Richard Branson, president of Virgin Atlantic, said: "Jet lag affects millions of travellers each day, either disrupting tourists' enjoyment of their breaks or business travellers' productivity on work trips.
"The Jet Lag Fighter app enables passengers to train their bodies to adjust to the new time zone and enhance the quality of their trip."
Virgin Atlantic operates flights to a number of long-haul destinations where travellers could find themselves suffering from jet lag, such as Hong Kong, Sydney and San Francisco.
