New Air Canada Flights Increase Canada Access
Air Canada has announced that it will increase flights to St Johns and Labrador over the summer
It has been revealed that to cope with rising demand over the summer months Air Canada has increased its intercontinental flights to both Labrador and St John’s. Operating direct flights from London’s Heathrow airport to both locations, the service began at the end of May and will continue through the summer until almost October.
Launched on May 27th, Air Canada’s increased routes will operate through the popular summer holiday period until September 26th offering both recreational and business passengers more choice over the times at which they fly. Providing a non-stop flight to the two Canadian cities the vice president of Air Canada’s network planning, Marcel Forget, revealed that due to initial popular demand the additional flights could see a return in 2011 with the possibility of becoming full term schedule additions.
Both Labrador and St John’s, which is located on the Newfoundland eastern province, have been increasingly popular with tourists over the past few years as more holidaymakers seek to tread new paths and enjoy the cultural and stunning landscape aspects of Canada. Meanwhile Dennis O’Keefe, St John’s mayor, expressed that business growth in particular would benefit from the additions. “With the impending major resource developments, expansion of ocean technology and the growth of St John's as a host for international conferences, I anticipate there will be significant take up in this service,” he said. And with the flights now provided on a daily basis, those looking for a Canadian break this summer will be certain to benefit from the rise in choice.
