Continental Airlines Prepares for new Business Flights
Continental Airlines will be testing out new 6ft 6inch flatbed seats on their Boeing 757 and 777 aircraft over the coming months
Continental Airlines has revealed that in preparation to open a new line of business class seats on some of their planes on international routes, they are to fly agents on the London to Houston and New York flights this summer for familiarisation. In an effort to improve the standard of business class on their planes the new flatbed seats will be tested by a range of agents before coming available to travellers later this year.
Newly introduced to their Boeing 757 and 777 aircraft, the BusinessFirst cabins are only available for intercontinental travellers until next May, at which time Continental Airlines plans to incorporate them into their regional routes as the entire fleet is overhauled. However, the early addition of such cabins to flights from London allow for business customers travelling overseas to benefit from the luxury seats which extend into fully flat beds approximately 6ft 6inches long.
Currently only offering a limited service for July, largely due to the space available with 50 seats on Boeing's 777's and a reduced 16 seats on 757's, the business seats may prove popular with those travelling abroad for work and for whom a good night's sleep is vital for business proceedings. Meanwhile Continental's ongoing concierge service for business passengers, which includes entertainment and pre-boarding assistance at London Heathrow's Terminal 4, will provide the perfect package when combined with the airlines new luxury seats.
