Eastern Airways have leased two new Embraer 135 jets

Eastern Airways has revealed that their newly acquired additional Embraer 135 jet aircraft is now ready to provide business travellers the luxury of domestic, international and private charter flights. Providing the firm with greater flexibility when it comes to offering seats, the lease for a second aircraft will increase Eastern Airway's fleet to 30, offering greater access to Norwegian cities such as Oslo and Stavanger, British cities, and the private sector.

Operating out of Durham Tees Valley and Newcastle, Eastern Airways flies to a number of domestic destinations including Aberdeen, Cardiff and Birmingham in addition to having a number of scheduled routes to Norway. Now operating for a decade, the company has serviced the North East with both scheduled and charter flights, with planes also being booked for some private charter routes. Signing a lease deal with GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) the two Embraer 37-seater jets will allow the operator to increase access of private groups, business corporations and blue-chip companies who wish to use the firm's network for easy travel.

Chief executive of Eastern Airways, Chris Holliday, explained that the addition to their fleet would provide customers with great benefits. "The Embraer jet complements our fleet and gives us tremendous flexibility," he said, adding that the private charter market would now be able to access 29, 37 and 50 seat aircraft and adding that they "can also adjust capacity to meet demand on scheduled services as needed." For business travellers and corporations in the North East, such additional services will provide an added professionalism to business trips in and around Europe.
