New Hilton Hotel Offers Greater Exploration of Netherlands
Hilton Hotels are opening a new hotel on the site of the old Royal Dutch Telecom building
News that Hilton Hotels are opening a new branch in the Dutch city of The Hague will be welcome news to those wishing to explore the Netherlands in greater detail. Locating itself in a prominent city of Dutch culture, the New Hilton The Hague will renovate the vacant 1950's home of Royal Dutch Telecom and provide tourists with a luxurious and globally known brand to provide extra comfort during their stay.
The Hague is the Netherlands' third most populated city, playing an important part in the culture and politics of the country, due to its role as home to Queen Beatrix and the Dutch government. With a wide range of historical architecture, popular museums and the Noordeinde Street, which is host to high end shopping locations and 15 eclectic art galleries, it is already a popular destination for those visiting the country. Meanwhile for art enthusiasts, the city offers the rare chance glimpse at Johannes Vermeer's original "Girl with a Pearl Earring" which is displayed a short distance away from the new Hilton at the Mauritshuis Museum. The new Hilton Hotel promises to attract an influx of entirely different visitors to the city as the chain's worldwide brand attracts travellers from across the globe.
Without an airport of its own, The Hague is easily reached from both Rotterdam and Schiphol airports, and is a short twenty or thirty minute train or car ride away respectively. Meanwhile, with a wide array of airports throughout Britain flying to the Netherlands, including London Heathrow and the East Midlands Airport, this unique cultural retreat is just a short journey away.
