New Flights Revealed by easyJet

easyJet have announced the addition of new routes

As a number of airlines continue to face difficulties, easyJet is showing strength in the face of adversity. With demand for their seats continuing to increase, the firm has announced two new routes from the UK to Lyon and Basel.

Flying from Edinburgh, easyJet's first route will provide a direct service to Switzerland's third largest city, Basel. Starting on December 3rd, travellers will be able to access the four weekly services to the city with prices starting at a nominal £25.99 and will fly out on Saturday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Regional manager of easyJet, Paul Simmons, expressed that the new route was a fantastic addition to their portfolio. "Basel is a city full of culture, history and leisure and we are delighted to offer our Scottish travellers the chance to visit this great location," he added.

Meanwhile the airline also revealed that they were to begin flying a new service to the French city of Lyon from Liverpool. Starting at a similar price as those on the Edinburgh to Basel route, the Lyon flights will commence on December 18th, offering Liverpudlians another exotic destination for a quick getaway. Popular for both its summer and winter climes, the architectural city offers beautiful French tradition in classic style. The city is located close to the Rhone Alps, making the location a perfect precursor to several days on the snowy slopes.

The additions to easyJet's schedule come after revelations that whilst some airlines saw their demand plummeting, the low cost airline saw strong gains. And with new routes expected to be revealed later in the year, the future looks bright for easyJet and their customers.
