Icelandair Increase Flights to Reykjavik

Icelandair have announce the addition of a weekly service between Manchester and Rejkjavik

With Iceland continuing to be a popular holiday destination in addition to being a travel hub between Europe and North America, Icelandair has revealed that they are to increase services from both Manchester and Glasgow airports. Announcing that from autumn 2010 passengers will benefit from additional flights, schedules have been planned to coincide with Icelandic connections.

Between September 14th and October 26th 2010 and April 12th and June 6th 2011 an additional weekly service will provide a new option for passengers wanting to travel to Iceland's capital. Creating a 'triangle' route by flying to Manchester, on to Glasgow and then returning to Reykjavik, the Icelandair addition has been specially timed to join with several connections to Canada and North America.

With flights from Reykjavik providing access to Boston, Seattle and New York, Icelandair's general UK and Ireland manager, Hjorvar Saeberg Hognason, said "We are pleased to expand our service from Manchester and Glasgow to Iceland and our North American destinations this autumn and next spring, two great times to visit Iceland, especially for those looking to save." He added that the flexibility would provide travellers with the perfect timing for connections whilst a favourable exchange rate would allow more tourists to visit Iceland. And with Iceland remaining a popular destination despite a number of recent problems, particularly with volcanic ash, passengers in the north east will certainly benefit from the wider range of options.
