Malaysia is one of several countries to see an increase in tourism recently

It has been revealed that British holidaymakers are looking to new destinations for their family holidays, amidst concerns over the stability of some European countries. Spain and Greece in particular have experienced a fallout in tourism due to the recent financial downturn currently affecting both countries. In light of these circumstances, Travelzest's chief operating officer Jack Fraser noted that a changing consumer trend among British tourists is to travel further afield in search of a paradise getaway.

The report is welcome news for countries seeking a rise in their tourism trade. Mr Fraser explained: "There has been a shift in consumer interest to new destinations. The search for new experiences also remains important to travellers." He added that the Philippines, the U.S and Malaysia were all noting gains in tourism. While European markets may miss out on this change in flight trends, flights to destinations such as Manila, Kuala Lumpur and American cities including Washington and Seattle will be among the more popular choices among British holiday goers.

Mr Fraser also explained that British tourists are increasingly looking further afield for new and exotic experiences, rather than visiting the more obvious and well-known travelled destinations. With cheap flights and deals continuing to become available to UK customers, and demand for family activity holidays and traditional younger backpacking retreats remaining at an all time high, previously less-popular destinations look set to become the new hotspots among British travellers.
