New Flights between London City Airport and Chambery for Winter Season

BA City Flyer uses the Embraer 190 for its flights between London City Airport and Chambery

It has been revealed by British Airways (BA) subsidiary group, BA City Flyer, that they are to offer new flights to Chambery for the winter season. With the winter sports season only months away, the new services will offer direct and quick access to the ski slopes from London City Airport.

The announcement comes as airlines across the industry look to offer increased access to popular winter destinations. With most people having enjoyed their summer breaks, individuals will now be looking ahead for their winter retreats, with winter sport enthusiasts wanting to head to the slopes for skiing or snowboarding.

Starting on December 18th, BA City Flyer will provide four services a week from London City to Chambery, continuing until the end of March 2011. Flying out on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and Fridays to best accommodate travellers requirements, services will return to London City Airport from Saturday through until Tuesdays. Allowing for easy short weekend breaks, or bookending weekend vacations as much as possible to avoid extra annual leave days, the services will be ideal for city dwellers in the capital wanting to escape on holiday quickly.

Speaking of the new services commercial manager for BA City Flyer, Luke Hayhoe, explained "Only a few short hours after taking off our customers can be in a winter wonderland of 120 ski resorts, all set amidst the majesty and splendour of the French and Swiss Alps."
