Demand for Flights to Florida Rises after Oil Spill
Miami Beach

Florida is seeing an increase in tourist numbers despite the oil spill that affected the gulf coast earlier this year

This year's globally publicised oil spill off the gulf coast of America may have cost the tourist industry millions in profit, but Florida is quickly recovering from the negative press. Whilst many tourists were put off the idyllic spot by images of oil slicks and devastated wildlife, good deals and positive marketing have once again put Florida on the holiday destination map.

Florida is widely thought of as the Sunshine State, with popular locations including Miami and Orlando continuing to draw millions of visitors a year. BP's oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico may have caused concern for many, but as the cleanup job continues, an increase in visitor numbers indicate a rising demand for flights.

Whether holidaymakers want to revel in the glorious beaches or take in the Harry Potter experience at Universal's Orlando Theme Park, Florida is the spot to be. Fort Lauderdale remains a hot arrival destination for guests boarding cruise ships set for Caribbean tours, whilst Miami lures with its glamorous and iconic city status. Meanwhile Tampa also provides a multitude of attractions including one of the best American zoos, Busch Gardens African themed entertainment park.

Flights to Florida from the UK are easily accessible, with travellers able to purchase economy, premium economy and business flights. And with London Gatwick and Manchester to name a few offering a range of flights, a holiday in the Sunshine State remains a popular lure.
