Thailand Represents Best Value for Money for Travel to Asia Pacific

Thailand has been voted best value for money in recent survey. Popular places to visit include The Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok

An announcement yesterday on CNN International reveals that a recent survey has placed Thailand as the best value for money destination for tourists and visitors visiting Asia Pacific locations for business or holiday. The information came via an Online Consumer Survey, which was conducted across CNN's English website and had over 5,000 participate globally. Thailand was chosen over second place China and India - who came in third.

Other key information revealed by the survey includes:

More people intend to travel for holiday over the next 12 months than they did last year.

46 percent of business travellers surveyed reported that the economic environment has had no impact on their business travel to the Asia Pacific or elsewhere.

79 percent of respondents who choose Thailand as the destination of choice said that they would be holidaying within the region sometime within the next year.

When asked how much they spent, survey takers revealed that their average spend on an Asia Pacific holiday was $4,000 US (approximately £2,560).

Of CNN International's globally-travelling respondents, 71 percent said they fly long haul for holiday and leisure purposes, taking an average of 14 holiday days per year.

The 40 percent of those surveyed who indicated they travel for business, said they usually flew business class or premium class, with an average of five business trips per year covering approximately 19 days in total.

Flights to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, Thailand are available through several UK airports including London Heathrow, Edinburgh, and Cardiff.
