Egypt Air plans to increase the amount of Airbus 330-300s flying between the UK and Egypt

Egypt Air continues to expand its Cairo network with the launch of twice-weekly flights between Khartoum, Sudan, and Alexandria.  The launch comes shortly after the introduction of new services from Cairo to Juba, Southern Sudan's capital city, and an offer of aid towards the completion of a $300 million US Southern Sudan infrastructural project. Amongst other things, one goal of the airline's efforts is to build ties with sub-Saharan countries supporting bilateral aid.

In addition to providing more flight options closer to home, Egypt Air is also working to expand its services to passengers flying internationally for business or pleasure. To this end, Egypt Air has joined with in-flight communications provider OnAir to provide in-flight communications services on the airline's fleet of Airbus 330 - 300 aircrafts; allowing passengers to use their laptops, mobile phones, smartphones, etc. during their airbus flights. OnAir provides GSM/GPRS and Wi-Fi internet connections using Immarsat SwiftBroadband services via Immarsat satellites.

Currently, there are several Egypt Air Airbus 330 - 300s aircraft in common operation between the United Kingdom and Cairo, with economy and business class flights to and from London Gatwick and Cairo International Airport flying regularly. Further, Egypt Air plans to increase the number of Airbus 330 - 300s flying between the UK and Egypt in order to ensure more passengers can enjoy and benefit from the fleet's in-flight communication services.

Other airlines offering regular travel to Cairo from the UK include British Airways, bmi, KLM, and Alitalia. Departure airports include Cardiff, Manchester, and East Midlands.
