Air China will be expecting delivery of four 777 300 ERs between 2013 and 2014

The Chinese flag-carrier Air China is expanding their fleet - with an order for four Boeing 777-300 ERs expected for delivery in stages throughout 2013 - 2014.

Awareness of the aircraft purchase agreement was made via a statement made to the Shanghai stock exchange; with Air China placing the value of the new purchases at approximately $1.15 billion. According to the airline, the decision was "conducive to optimising the company's fleet structure to meet market demand." Air China also added that the acquisition will allow them to perform more efficiently as well as seen benefit from flight concessions.

The Boeing 777-300 ER is part of the Boeing Commercial Airplanes range of wide bodied aircraft designed for long-haul flights, with a range of 5,235 to 9,380 nautical miles (9,695 to 17,370 kilometres). It is currently the world's largest twin jet, with a seating capacity of over 300.

For international travel, flying the Boeing 777-300 ER can make for a more pleasant experience. All seats on the aircraft are equipped with In-Flight Entertainment systems with over 500 channel capacity. First class is a 2-2-2 configuration; there are no middle seats in this class. On most Boeing 777-300 ERs the seat arrangements in business class are 2-3-2 and 3-3-3 for economy class. However, some airlines order their aircraft with a 3-4-3 arrangement for economy.

Airlines whose fleets include the Boeing 777 include Emirates, Singapore Airlines, British Airways, and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, flying to various destinations from most of the UK's major airports.
