Fly to New York City to Celebrate Halloween Family Style
Central Park plays host to several events celebrating Halloween
The City of New York loves Halloween and this year it is going to be grand. With plenty of family-oriented celebration and events as well as a wealth of activities to keep the adults entertained and happy, New York City at Halloween is the place to be.
The weather in New York is also good at this time of year. During late October/early November, the days are still mild and the trees are replacing their summer green with their winter russets and yellows, so walking and being outdoors are quite a treat. At Halloween, Central Park, the most famous park in New York, not only serves as backdrop for a scenic stroll, it also serves as home to several Halloween events. This includes the Halloween Parade and Pumpkin Sail. See the varying faces of a wealth of carved pumpkins, carve one of your own, or treat yourself and your family to a scare from the Spooks of Belvedere.
Even the American Museum of Natural History gets in on the festivities; with the Trick or Treat Parade held at the Children's Museum of Arts. One of the largest children's parades in America, the event begins at the Mommy Poppins site in Prospect Park.
There are other festivals and parades as well, including the Haunted Walk and Carnival in Brooklyn and the Pier of Fear.
From the UK, flights are regularly leaving for one of New York's three airports - JFK, Newark, and La Guardia. Departure airports include Aberdeen, East Midlands, Leeds-Bradford, and Newcastle.
