Icelandair Reveals Transatlantic New York Flights
Icelandair is adding 200 flights to its winter schedule
Icelandair has revealed that as of this winter, it will begin providing UK residents with flights to New York via Iceland. While a multitude of direct flights to the Big Apple already exist, the new service will allow travellers to take advantage of Icelandic stopovers at no extra expense.
As part of the airliner's plan to increase flights to Iceland and offer its customers a convenient way to split their journey, Icelandair revealed that customers would be allowed to stopover in the country without having to pay any additional airfares. This would apply for all flights to Canada and the U.S, allowing travellers to effectively visit two countries for the price of one.
Departing from a range of airports across the UK, including Manchester, London Heathrow and Glasgow, the flights will allow travellers wanting to visit New York for the upcoming winter shopping season a chance to enjoy competitive prices and a luxury service. All flights will include ample leg space, allowing travellers to sit back and relax whilst in-flight, as well as a touch screen onboard entertainment system, which will provide a range of movies, games and music. Complimentary drinks will also be served, in addition to a range of snacks.
The new service will be ideal for anyone looking to travel to New York for Christmas, either to visit friends and family, or simply for a magical Christmas break. Of course, New York is also famed for its shopping, and thousands of travellers are likely to flock to the shopping capital to bag some New Year bargains.
While there is always the option of a direct flight to New York, stopping over in the calming surrounds of Iceland before hitting the bustling streets of New York could be the perfect antidote to an otherwise long-haul flight.
