Return to Crescent City with Flights to New Orleans
Last year saw 7.5 million tourists visit New Orleans
With a large amount off negative press surrounding the coastline around New Orleans due to the recent BP oil spill, in addition to the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina, travellers could be forgiven for removing New Orleans from their holiday wish list. However, the Crescent City is now seeing a revival in its popularity, and with the community clamouring to make the city shine again, flights to New Orleans could once again reach an all time high.
Known for its rich culture, wonderful nightlife, and as a historic birthplace of classic and bluesy jazz, New Orleans was dramatically hit when Hurricane Katrina ravished its streets. However, the city is once again drawing in tourists from across the world as it builds new venues and attractions to stand the test of time over the coming years.
With local hotel rooms fast becoming completely sold-out, and the Saints winning the Super Bowl, eyes are now focussed on New Orleans. The city's popular Garden District, Zoo, Arts District, and French Quarter are flourishing, and with the new "Soul Is Waterproof" mission statement, the charm and attitude of the Crescent City lives on. Last year saw 7.5 million tourists visit the city, and 2010 figures are expected to reach even higher levels. Tourism to New Orleans is certainly back on the rise.
Travelling to New Orleans couldn't be easier, with Continental and United offering a range of flights from Heathrow. And with a variety of classes readily available from a multitude of airlines, tourists can land in the Crescent City well rested and ready to explore this iconic and reborn destination.
