Flights With Turkish Airlines to Improve With Boeing Delivery
Turkish Airlines have ordered 12 Boeing 777-300ERs
The flagship air carrier for Turkey, Turkish Airlines, has revealed that it will receive its first 777-300ER jet from Boeing. The first of 12 planes to be ordered by the airline, it marks a major milestone for the carrier and will provide customers with a better service than ever before.
Turkish Airlines will now be able to supply its 'Comfort Class' to passengers who wish to travel aboard the Extended Range (ER) plane. The airline is becoming increasing popular among British travellers flying to Istanbul from airports including London Heathrow. Chairman of Turkish Airlines, Hamdi Topcu, said of the new service: "The addition of new Boeing 777-300ERs exemplifies our commitment to delivering high quality service and comfort to our passengers."
The arrival of the new aircraft not only marks the implementation of Turkish Airlines' new 'comfort class', but also allows a greener and more efficient way of flying. The worlds most powerful commercial jet engines have been installed on the 777-300ER, utilising Boeing's twin-engine efficiency standards. The aircraft is also 19% lighter than any other commercial jet, allowing even greater fuel reductions.
Not only does the 777-300ER have a lower carbon dioxide emission than a standard aircraft by a considerable 22% per seat, but the cost of operating the aircraft also amounts to 20% less per seat, making Boeing's new airplane very economically efficient. Not only is this a positive step for Turkish Airlines and its role as a major international carrier, but also for the future of eco-travel in the years to follow.
