KLM Offers New Services to Amsterdam
The new service to Amsterdam will begin next April
Due to popular demand, KLM has announced plans to increase the number of its flights between Scotland and Amsterdam. The new services will begin next April and will provide those living in and around Scotland with additional options when travelling to the popular Dutch city.
As more Scottish holidaymakers continue to set their sights on Amsterdam, KLM revealed it will be making close to a 20% increase in the number of services to the city from Scotland. Additional daily return flights on existing routes from Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and Glasgow to the Dutch city will provide the 60% of Scots who travel via KLM with far more options when catching connecting flights. Five daily services will be run from Aberdeen and Glasgow - Edinburgh will offer six. Industry insiders believe it is only a matter of time before KLM announces additional services from Inverness.
The new steps will prove particularly popular among the large number of Scottish passengers who need quick travel to international hubs for long haul journeys. While bmi and British Airways both offer several options for travellers by feeding them into their vast networks, an additional service to Amsterdam will fill somewhat of a gap to the city of Amsterdam. And with heightened demand behind the decision, KLM's importance as a leading airline in Scotland looks set only to grow.
