Aruba Proves Popular Among British Tourists
Baby Beach, Aruba

The amount of people travelling to Aruba has increased by 20 per cent in the first nine months of 2010

New figures have revealed that the exotic destination of Aruba is proving popular among Brits seeking a tropical holiday getaway. With glorious beaches, excellent shopping, and a beautiful island town to investigate, Aruba provides the tourist with a multitude of amenities to keep the traveller both entertained and relaxed.

While newly released figures showed that while travel to the Caribbean actually dropped by about 12% in the first nine months of 2010, travel to Aruba has actually increased by 20%. Plenty of cruise ships dock at this glorious port, but with a range of affordable flights available from the UK, British holidaymakers can easily travel to the island by air. London Heathrow offers indirect flights with American Airlines and Virgin Atlantic.

Away from the bustling resorts and established attractions, tourists can also explore Aruba's wild side. Windswept and empty beaches can be found at some of the island's more extreme vistas, and its National Park is a gem for travellers wanting to explore some natural scenery. Here, Arikok Wildlife Park provides stunning sights of twisted and gnarled divi-divi trees, gold mines that have long since been deserted, and cactuses that tower above the rest of the fauna.

With more and more services to this exotic island being provided from the UK, Aruba looks set to remain in the top ten Caribbean destinations for some time.
