New Flights with Delta Revealed
The additional services will commence from March next year
Delta Air Lines has revealed that it is to increase the number of services that it offers between Heathrow and a number of American cities. Gaining a stamp of approval from the U.S Department of Transportation, additional daily services between the UK airport and the international ports of Miami and Boston will begin in March next year offering new spring options for both business and pleasure travellers.
Announcing that the new daily flights would be in operation every day of the year, Delta revealed that beginning on March 27th, 2011 additional travel options would be available from both Miami and Boston international airports. Coming into force due to the airline's business agreement with Alitalia, KLM, and Air France, the new services will be spread across a range of carriers. Winning the additional flights due to Oneworld Alliance holding 47per cent of Heathrow's landing and takeoff slots, the victory for Delta means that travellers will have more freedom than ever before in choosing the travel arrangements best suited to their needs.
Serving London Heathrow since 2008, Delta is part of the SkyTeam who currently only have access to 5per cent of the slots available at the international and British based airport. However, with competition regulations bringing about significant changes to service line-ups, the new flights with Delta will bring more flexibility and better competitive fares for those travelling between Britain and the U.S.
