Aer Lingus have announced that they will be increasing the number of flights they provide in 2011

Irish airline Aer Lingus has revealed that they are to increase a number of flight services, and lay on routes to new destinations in 2011. Whilst the company will increase services to current destinations including Amsterdam and Faro, new routes will be added from Belfast and Cork to the Canary Islands and Spain.

Already offering a morning and evening business service for travellers between both Manchester and Birmingham to Cork, Aer Lingus revealed that the regional services would remain in place. Welcomed by those needing quick and easy travel between the UK and Ireland, these popular services are often utilised by business people, with easy same day returns easily accessible.

Meanwhile, Aer Lingus' flights to Amsterdam from Cork will increase to 13 weekly flights. Cork's flights to Faro, Tenerife, and Lanzarote will also gain an additional weekly flight to allow customers a large number of travel options. Elsewhere, brand new routes will start in March, offering a twice weekly flight service to Gran Canaria from Belfast. Meanwhile, another twice weekly service will commence from Cork and will service Palma de Mallorca.

Speaking of the new services Director of Communications at Aer Lingus, Declan Kearney, said "Today's announcement marks our continued development at Cork Airport." Such news not only offers increased access for those locally who want quick travel to popular destinations, but ensures that those travelling back and forth for business can continue to do so easily. And with new routes and increased flights, those British people in Cork for business will be able to take advantage of connecting services for last minute getaways.
