New Zealand Spa Offers Incredible Retreat
New Zealand Spa proves to be a great holiday hotspot for Brits
New Zealand continues to be an excellent holiday hotspot for Brits, with the shorter travel time than flying to Australia making it even more attractive for those wanting to explore somewhere far away without the hassle of long haul travel. For those who want to discover the wildlife and landscape of this beautiful country there is no place better to stay than the Great South Seas Spa in Rotorua.
Offering great accommodation from which to base an exotic holiday, the spa has all of the luxurious facilities that one would expect from a relaxing retreat. It is, however, the surrounding region that really offers an exciting and intriguing holiday. For those who want to explore New Zealand's own Pompeii, the volcano buried Maori village of Te Wairoa, this has been made into a museum where visitors can explore the excavations.
For the wildlife enthusiast, Rotorua is extremely close to Rainbow Springs, a very different kind of wildlife park. Here, visitors can find a reptile dating back to the Triassic Period - as the park hails it, their very own living dinosaur. Existing for the last 300 years, these strange creatures are called Tuatara's, and whilst the one at the park is still a baby, its third eye and prehistoric spikes are clearly visible. Meanwhile, visitors can also discover an 80 million year old species of gecko, extremely rare parakeets from the sub-Antarctic, and a kiwi hatchery where chicks are raised before being released back into the wild.
For anyone who wants to explore New Zealand's exotic wildlife and rich history, Rotorua is the perfect place to visit. With Air New Zealand offering great flights to the destination, travellers could soon be discovering dinosaurs for themselves.
