Experts Explore 2011 Holiday Hotspots
The Philippines, India and Brazil are all expected to see a considerable increase in tourism in 2011
Experts within the holiday sector are beginning to predict changing holiday spots for 2011 with the Philippines, India, and Brazil all expected to see considerable increases in tourism. Meanwhile current hotspots including New Zealand and the USA are expected to continue drawing in visitors from around the planet.
As global destinations become increasingly accessible, hotspots further afield are likely to benefit from growing tourism. Philippine destinations including Cebu and Manila are expected to benefit from the political unrest in Thailand. Indian locations also continue to attract visitors, with bustling cities such as Mumbai and Calcutta providing an explosion of colour and life. Brazilian cities such as Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo are also becoming more popular with the nation as they continue making improvements to increase visitor safety during trips.
Experts revealed that travel spending trends have also changed. While individuals used to save money for years at a time to spend their savings on a longer holiday experience, the current accessibility of destinations and falls in airfares now allow tourists to take several smaller trips. While the gap year is still popular with students, those in employment can now more easily take three or four weeks out of their schedule to visit a foreign destination. And with airfares expected to remain competitive, and cities making improvements in a bid to increase tourism, the future looks bright for those wanting to holiday in 2011.
