Gatwick to Provide New Flights with EasyJet
The new routes from Gatwick will start in 2011
It has been revealed by budget airline easyJet that they are to offer a range of new routes from London Gatwick. With their new services due to start with effect from the spring of 2011, those who wish to travel on a budget will now be able to fly to new destinations including Turkey and Jordan.
The carrier will be adding another three aircraft to their Gatwick based fleet, bring the total number of planes to 46. For the first time with easyJet, travellers will be able to utilise a new route to Jordan's Amman. Meanwhile flights with the cheap airline will also be offered to the Italian cities of Verona and Bologna, the Spanish city of Seville, the Turkish city of Izmir, and Scotland's Aberdeen.
The move comes as easyJet expands its Gatwick presence and offers an increasing number of services from the airport. Currently serving 32.5 million passengers per year, the airport's target of 40 million annual customers by 2018 will be greatly helped by the cheap airline's increased portfolio. 2010 in particular has noted significant growth, with a 10 per cent increase seen in easyJet passengers at Gatwick.
Whilst the timetable for the new flights has yet to be confirmed all routes will begin operating between March and June 2011. In time for the popular summer season, the services will provide passengers with more cheap travel options than ever and will offer a fantastic opportunity to visit some of Europe's most loved cities.
