Exclusive Upper Deck Business Class Comes to Korean Air
Korean Air introduce new upper deck business class
It has been revealed that Korean Air is going to turn over the entire upper deck of their new Airbus A380 to business class. Ahead of the Singapore Airlines, the carrier will become the first airline to provide upper deck exclusivity to business travellers flying on their aircraft.
Due to receive its new shipment of A380's, Korean Air will be including 94 of its unique lie-flat Prestige Class fares on the upper deck to provide business travellers with added luxury. Offering "extra large seat partitions" senior vice president of the firm, Walter Cho, explained that passengers could feel as if travelling aboard a private jet. Whilst the upper deck changes its formation, the lower level of the aircraft will adopt a traditional setting with 301 economy seats and 12 first class suites.
Korean Air's new configuration will come into effect when their first jet makes its inaugural flight in May 2011. Meanwhile four more aircraft will make maiden flights during the rest of the year, whilst an additional five will be travelling on routes by 2014. Whilst the first services will offer flights to Japan and East Asia, by August 2011 Korean Air will be utilising their new aircraft on transport to both America and European cities such as London. And with the airlines new features confirmed for May, they will become the first carrier in the world to offer a completely private business class upper deck.
