2011 Travel Hotspots to Include Syria and Abu Dhabi
Syria and Abu Dhabi are expected travel hotspots for 2011
A new report from the ABTA Travel Trends paper has revealed that the British public are continuing to favour holidays which offer value for money. Rather than look for the cheapest prices, Brits instead look for destinations where they can get the most for their holiday fund.
Revealing that 74per cent of British individuals now see value for money as a vitally important holiday requirement, ABTA said that destinations such as Turkey's Istanbul, and Egypt's Cairo were likely to continue noting an increase in tourists. With non eurozone destinations offering economical value for travellers wanting to get the most for their money, places in Syria, Tunisia, and Abu Dhabi are also expected to become some of 2011's top holiday destinations. And with cities such as Damascus and Djerba both accessible with competitively priced fares, tourists can explore new hotspots without breaking the bank.
Meanwhile, in addition to a growing number of popular regions outside of the eurozone, ABTA explained that short haul European destinations would be popular whilst the cruise holiday market, with its inclusive deals, would see a boom in business. Chief executive of the regulatory group, Mark Tanzer, said "While cost will be high in customers' consciousness in 2011, so is their desire to get the best experience for their money. Travel companies who pride themselves on good service and provide excellent holidays will win custom." Meanwhile, with Brits continuing to recognise holidaying as an essential part of life, demand for flights is likely to remain strong throughout 2011.
