New York's Central Park Holds Multitude of Attractions
Central Park has a multitude of attractions for tourists
New York is one of America's most loved city's, with millions of visitors flocking to the destination every year. Important for business and popular with travellers looking to get away for city breaks, getting to New York is easy. And once tourists are there, there are a multitude of attractions to keep everyone busy.
New York's famous Central Park holds a huge number of attractions itself. This huge 843 acre park is situated in the very centre of Manhattan, offering both residents and visitors a welcome outside space to enjoy. Whilst it can offer the perfect solitude for reading a book or taking the time to have a picnic, it holds a number of great attractions itself which can be enjoyed by all the family.
America's oldest zoo can be found in Central Park, having been open since 1864 and still enjoying popularity today. A children's petting zoo is perfect to keep young ones amused, whilst a wide range of animals including polar bears and sea lions continue to delight visitors. Belvedere Castle is also a great experience, offering stunning architecture and the Henry Luce Nature Observatory is a place where all the family can learn about the park's wild inhabitants.
Elsewhere, those wanting to enjoy the beauty of the park should visit Bethesda Terrace, one of the park's most famous sights. With sandstone carvings overlooking a fountain and lake it is a spectacular sight. For the gardeners amongst you, Shakespeare Garden offers rustic charm and beautiful flowers, especially in the summer months.
With New York offering so many attractions, individuals may not have the opportunity to fully explore Central Park. By discovering a few of its highlights, a great experience is guaranteed and with the city so accessible from British airports including Manchester, London Heathrow, and Bristol, tourists can visit time and time again.
