Lufthansa Promotes A380 Aircraft
Lufthansa named new A380 aircraft â??Tokyoâ??
Popular German airline Lufthansa has aided the promotion of their new A380 aircraft by officially naming their latest fleet addition 'Tokyo'. Taking its name from the destination of their first ever A380, Lufthansa said that the double decker plane had noted significant success since it was introduced.
Taking place at Tokyo-Narita Airport, the naming ceremony not only celebrated Lufthansa's first destination for their A380, but also the 50th anniversary of the company's first service to Japan. In a special twist on the popular tradition of breaking champagne, a barrel of sake was used to commemorate the ongoing relationship between the country and the airline.
Talking of the important milestone chief of Lufthansa, Christopher Franz, said "Our passengers have been flying on our Tokyo service for more than seven months in our new flagship and the enthusiasm for this aircraft and all the innovations associated with it is still as great as it was on the first day."
The new A380's remain one of the world's most efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft available. Also one of the quietest, the planes have two decks, with the German's company offering eight First Class and 98 Business Class seats. Meanwhile a unique air humidification process is also in place, helping passengers avoid the tiredness and dry skin often associated with air travel.
Lufthansa remains a popular airline of choice for those travelling from the UK, with the company offering flights to a multitude of destinations around the world. With the increasing presence of A380's in their fleet, those travelling on board are set to enjoy a luxurious standard of comfort.
