Global Traveller Awards Reveals Best in Premium and Business Class

Virgin Atlantic Airways voted best airline for travellers flying between economy and business class

2011's Global Traveller magazine awards ceremony has taken place, with accolades given to airlines across the world for their top of the range services. Held in New York, a number of categories are specifically aimed at Business Class and First Class travel, allowing regular flyers to discover just which companies offer the best services.

Winning the 'Best Airline for Premium Class', Virgin Atlantic Airways were revealed to have the best service for travellers who want to fly between economy and business class. Upgrading from economy, passengers in the premium class receive three meal options and a complimentary pre-flight drink. Dishes are served on china, whilst post meal fruit is offered throughout the flight. In addition, a stylish amenity kit, priority boarding, personal seatback TV and complimentary newspaper are amongst the extra perks.

For business class travellers who want to enjoy the best seating, Korean Air scooped the 'Best Business Class Seat Design'. With their new prestige seat offering a full180 degree flat recline and 74 inch pitch, it is comparable to many first class seating options. For travellers who want the best overall business services, British Airways came out on top with Club World Lounge's, free Wi-Fi, onboard storage, personal lamps, and excellent gourmet meals being offered on flights.

For premium and business class flyers the awards show is an important guide for the year ahead.  With many leading airlines coming out on top, demand for business and premium seats aboard their planes is set to rise.
