Post Office Reveal Cheap Family Destinations

Bulgaria is one of the Post Offices's Cheap Family Destinations to Visit During 2011

Many families may now be starting to look ahead to the summer and plan their getaways. With the economic climate causing money to be tight and for would-be travellers to be more careful about how they spend it, cheaper holiday destinations are in top demand.  The Post Office Travel Money has now revealed, for a fifth year, the latest destinations which are actually cheaper for families than in 2010.

With the pound strengthening against the Euro, destinations in Europe are unsurprisingly more affordable for families than last year. Taking into account a range of family essentials such as sun cream, bottles of water, and cups of coffee, the Post Office Travel Money have compiled the list of nations in their Worldwide Holiday Cost Barometer 2011. Bulgaria's Varna is perfect for its beaches, whilst Portugal's tropical city of Funchal is well worth a visit for the climate alone. Add into the mix that the exchange rate in British holidaymaker's favour and most nations in Europe are set to be cheaper for holidaying in this year.

For individuals wanting to visit places further afield, the report showed that Sri Lanka and cities such as Colombo had risen into the top five cheapest family destinations, making this up and coming hotspot ideal for families who want a bit more adventure. So for those wanting to spend less on their family holiday this year without compromising on quality, paying close attention to the Post Office's findings could provide the perfect answer.
